More Sega Pickups

Have made a few Misc Sega Pickups over the last couple weeks.

First Pickup is from my daughter, who found this at a Thrift Store for a Dollar.

Next, I did trade with a guy on Segaage.com for some extra artwork and manuals I had.

A couple White Dreamcast VMU's

I had 3 Blue VMU's, and 1 Green one that is Brand New Package. Looking for all the Colors. 

Next up an impulse eBay purchase, it was $21.00 shipped each for all 3. $7.00 a piece for complete Sega CD games is not a bad deal at all.

They are all are complete and in great shape.

I had tried to buy Fahrenheit on my Utah Game Hunting Trip, but they only had one disc. Turns out both are needed, at least to play the 32X version, as I found out this weekend when I went to play.

And, finally, one of my Sega Genesis Holy Grails. One of my personal top 6 games for the system.

This was another eBay pickup, I paid $15.00 shipped. 

Unfortunately, Missing the Manual.

One of my absolute favorite games. I remember buying this Brand new myself, back when it came out. I put it on layaway, and made weekly payments with my PT job. I have had Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on the Xbox 360 for a few years now, this game is on there, but I refused to play until I got the actual physical cartridge. 

This is a Role Playing Game/Dungeon Crawler. I remember having a stack of Graph paper maps I made while playing, to keep my place in the dungeons. I cannot wait to delve back into this game. Will probably play the 360 version, as it will look better on my TV and I plan to put some gameplay videos on my You Tube Channel.

Halo The Master Chief Collection $8.00

I was advised of a deal for Halo The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One at Target.

Best Buy, Gamestop and Walmart all had it in their ads for $19.99. Target had it for $29.99, but they also had some Cartwheel app I had never heard of, that was giving 60% off Halo The Master Chief Collection.

I checked the 3 Targets close to me, and unfortunately, they were all out. But my daughter found me one at her local Target, did the $19.99 Price Match, and Used the 60% Off Cartwheel App, and.....

What have I been playing?

Hey, What's Happening? Sorry I have been away for a few weeks, had lots going on, Work, my 5yr old started school, wedding stuff, etc...

Anyway, I thought I would share what I have been playing lately.

Every night before bed, I usually play a little bit of a Nintendo handheld, for the last almost 6 months I was playing Super Collapse II on the Gameboy Advance. I decided to try something new, that I have never played before, and I picked up last summer (Blog Here) and only tested to make sure it
worked.

The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap

Playing on my awesome Gameboy Advance SP, I bought new back in 03/04.

Same ol Zelda Music, Same ol Gameplay, but definitely fun. So far it is pretty fun, I have made it to Mount Crenel. Looking forward to continuing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

There have been quite a few Double XP weekends lately, plus a new map pack. My Fiancee and I decided to prestige, and I am sad to say, she is further along than I am. I am Prestige 2 lvl 50 or so, she is Prestige 3 lvl 20? Anyway, it's Call of Duty, not much else to say.

A Few Misc Video Game Pickups

Had a few misc Game Pickups over the last week or two.

Nights into Dreams Sampler for the Sega Saturn, Wish it was the complete game.....

Best Buy runs a lot of one day only sales, and last Thursday or Friday it was this one for $9.99, Brand New. Picked it up for the 360 last July, (Blog Here) Not a big fan of the Multiplayer on this one, But I did really enjoy the campaign enough, that I wanted to play it again on the Xbox One. How many chances do you get to ** Spoiler ** Kill Kevin Spacey.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 

And another Xbox One pickup? My oldest daughters boyfriend bought this game, and decided he didn't like it, and didn't want it anymore, so he asked if I wanted it. I had been planning on getting it eventually, so said "yes",  Thanks Again Nate!

 Halo 5: Guardians

Finally, my last pickup is a game I started playing on the Xbox 360, and it quickly became one of my absolute favorite games of all time. I have played through the campaign on the 360 10-12 times, and 2-3 on the PS3.

I don't play PC games anymore, but I bought all the different versions, just to display, because that's how much I like this game. The Gold Edition was the last "version" I needed.

Sega Sports Dreamcast Pickup

I had never heard of the Sega Dreamcast until a few years ago. In 99 I was buying and playing alot of Playstation games. It wasn't until 2012/13 I heard of and found out about the Dreamcast.

First, before I got myself a Dreamcast, I had found 2 complete games at a Goodwill for 1.99 each, Test Drive 6, Which was one of the games/series I loved on the Playstation, and Demolition Racer No Exit, which was the same game as on the Playstation, which I have and loved to play as well.

In roughly December 2013, I saw an ad on Craigslist for a Dreamcast, with the Power and A/V Cords, a Blue Controller and Matching VMU for $20.00. Met the guy after work one night, and brought it home and tried out my 2 games I had found earlier that year. Just as I remembered them on the Playstation.

However, after awhile it started to bother me that all my other Sega Systems, my Model 1Genesis, Model 2 Genesis/CD/32X and Saturn were all Black, while the Dreamcast was White. Then I found out there was a Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast, that was Black with White Sega Logos, just like my other Sega systems. So I set out on a search to get a hold of one. I came close to getting a controller at a retro game store, I saw it in the case, and was trading in a bunch of misc stuff, and decided I would get it after they gave me my credit. Well, 20 minutes later, the controller was gone, Ugh!

A few came and went on craigslist, the cheapest being $75.00, or one that was in a huge lot the person was not looking to seperate, and ones that were just over priced, more than the $75.00 one.

So, last week I was perusing Craigslist, and I saw an ad for a Sega Sports Dreamcast, with 3 sports games, Mad Catz Controller :( , Blue VMU, the Power and A/V Cables for $40.00, Figured decent price, why not? Found out it was the same guy I got some other Sega stuff from 2 weeks ago (that blog HERE). Met up with him Friday, and Picked it up.

I hooked it up when I got home, and it works great! I am disappointed it didn't have the matching controller though, but it's just something else to keep on the hunt for. I am keeping the Sports Games, Sayyyyy Whaaaat? I don't have a large Dreamcast collection, so figure, why not add to what is there.

The plan since I first saw it was to remove the Sega Sports Logo, but I don't know now that I actually have it. Being that I really don't care about sports games, or sports in general, but where it is next to my Saturn, you can't even see the logo. I may in the future, hard to say, I can be impulsive sometimes.

Throwing together the Mad Catz controller with my white Dreamcast, cables and extra Tomb Raider the Last Revelation game and going to sell as a lot, to re-coup my investment in my new (to me) Black Sega Sports Dreamcast.

I had my old white Dreamcast listed on my local Craigslist for $50.00, a guy responded to my ad, asked if it worked (I had several pictures with it turned on, game loaded, etc..) and when we met, he said he did not have any change, and handed me 3 $20.00 bills, but was fine with it!

As I eluded to in my last blog, I had set up a craigslist deal with a guy for some misc Sega items.

First I saw the Sealed Sonic DVD's, and I knew I wanted them for my 5 year old, who LOVES Sonic. He also had a few other Sega Items I figured I would see if I could get a deal on all of it.

Originally the guy had the items in a large lot of mixed Sega, Nintendo, Xbox and misc items for $100.00. I shot him an email asking about the DVD's and Sega Stuff, he said sure he would separate them, just make a fair offer. If you have been reading this blog, you know I am cheap, well I try to get stuff cheap, anyway I really wanted the Sonic DVD's for my daughter, so I offered $20.00 Cash, which he accepted.

Couple Dreamcast Tomb Raider Games. I did not have Chronicles so added that to my collection, I did have Last Revelation but my manual had torn pages, so this made for a nice replacement manual. 

I picked a few misc games off eBay. I was originally wanting to bid on a NFL Quarterback Club for the Sega 32X, For a reason. The 4 Akklaim 32X sports games had Genesis style clamshell cases, all the others were cardboard boxes.

I am going for a full set of 32X games, as there are only 36 (should have been 32 LoL) anyway, I was watching the auction and it was at $1.25 all week, so I bid on some of the other games the guy had since they were all mostly low priced, and he combined shipping.

So, back to the story about the 32X game, I am one of those people who waits until the last 10 Seconds or less to bid, yeah I have a fast computer with a fast cable internet connection.Anyway, it was still at $1.25, I just put in a bid of $10.00 to just make sure I covered whatever was bid. Well, this time it was not enough, it went for $10.50. Grrrr Oh well, got a deal on the other two games.

Fast Forward a week, and I finally get one that had a Buy It Now for $12.99 or Make Offer with Free Shipping, I made an offer of $7.00, I didn't want to spend alot. He countered with 9.99, I just let the offer expire. Then with only a few hours left on the auction, I offered $8.15, and it was accepted.

It had the EA Insert and Playbook Map, they weren't shown or mentioned in the auction, Nice.

I did happen to have an extra manual though, from the first time I bought this game just for the case, when I only thought I only wanted Doom and Star Wars for the 32X. Now that I am going for a full set, I need em all. I will be buying numerous copies of the 4 Akklaim games, just for the cases for all of my 32X game Collection.

Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition

It was time

I have been a big Forza fan since the first one on the original Xbox. I knew when I finally got an Xbox One, I would be getting Forza 5. When I finally did get my Xbox One, I got the Forza 6 Edition Console Unboxing Blog Here

I got back into playing Forza a few weeks ago, after a slight hiatus, and since I had some Virtual Money in my Virtual Pocket, off to eBay I went. I found someone Selling Brand New, Factory Sealed Forza 5 Limited Editions for $19.99 Shipped. Of course I had to click the Buy it Now.

Steelbook, I love to collect Steelbooks

When I get a Steelbook game, I like to get a regular case and artwork to keep it on the game shelf with. That way the Steelbook doesn't get all dented and scratched taking it off and on the shelf. This pickup was no different.

Back to eBay I went, while I was waiting for my Limited Edition to arrive, and I found One, yes One listing for a empty case and artwork for Forza Motorsport 5. $1.99. with $1.99 shipping, I won.

And here it is, it is in brand new condition, to go with my brand new limited edition.

I also had a free car download, I received an email from Microsoft/Xbox Live with a code for a free car download for Forza Motorsport 5, I received the email 11/23/13. Entered the code when I got my game two and a half years later, and still worked. Hang on to those old emails, never know when you can use them.
