Couple Original Xbox Game Pickups

One of my favorite systems to collect for, is the original Xbox. I had a PS2 when the original Xbox came out, and once I got the Xbox (just to play Halo at the time) I started buying all my cross platform games for it.

Anyway, here are a few recent OG Xbox pickups

Arx Fatalis - Complete and in Good Shape

Ever since I saw another You Tuber pick this up, I have been interested in getting it. It usually goes for $20.00+ Complete. However,  I rolled the dice (and won) and bought it from a new eBay seller that had 0 feedback for $9.99 shipped!

A few years back, Xbox Live "Games with Gold" promotion had Sniper Elite V2 as one of the free game downloads for Xbox 360, I had never played Sniper Elite before, and it looked interesting. I played it, and Loved it! So much so that I have the Sniper Elite III Ultimate Edition for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Anyway, again another game that generally goes for almost $20.00, but I was able to score a copy for $12.xx shipped from good ol eBay.

Custom Sega Dreamcast Controller

I recently got a Transparent Black Sega Dreamcast Controller:
Nice

But, a short time later I found myself  thinking "I wonder how the Transparent face would look on a Black Sega Sports Controller?" Since I have 2, I figured why not do the swap for myself and see.

It was after 10:00pm once the wife went to work, and the kid went to bed. I completely did not think to get any pictures of disassembling the two controllers. It was relatively straight forward, and it actually went back together a lot easier than it came apart. Of course, I only put one of them back together.....

Before

After

That's a niiiice looking controller!

I really, really like it! This is now going to be my main controller when playing my Dreamcast.

With matching VMU & Vibration pack, too bad that is not Black as well.

Custom Sega Dreamcast Game Case

How a quick project, turned into a little more drawn out than I had expected.

I recently picked up a Japanese game for the Sega Dreamcast, But I did not like the white CD case that it came in, and wanted it to match my U.S. Game Cases.

Which one of these things is not like the other?

So I took the rear cover art out of a sports game, and plopped it n the case, with a clear CD holder instead of the white one.

Much Better
A minor visual thing, but looks sooooo much better to me.

However, now when I take the Macross game out of it's case, I see a basketball player. And I really do not give a crap about sports, at all. I don't know anything about sports, or care to learn. Anyway, I really need to do something about this.

Doh!

So, I guess the best thing to do is to cut out the Sega Dreamcast Logo on the spine.
 And there we go

First I tried just laying it in the rear of the case, thinking it was far enough into the case the CD area would hold it, I was wrong...... It slid over in the case. Then I asked my six year old for her glue stick, it was all dried out and hard.

Then I was digging in the junk drawer and found this

I forgot about this, this is what I use to secure the loose flaps on Playstation Long Box games.

Ahhhh, Much Better

Before              and                After

Just a minor thing, but made a huge difference to me.

Sega Dreamcast Pickups

Picked up a couple more Sega Dreamcast items to add to the hoard.

Picked up a colored controller I did not have.

 Transparent Black

And another Japanese Macross Game!

I have an Import Boot Disc, so I will be able to play this on my US Dreamcast.

The spine is in Japanese, since it's the only Import Dreamcast game I have, I will know what it is...

But Wait!

The spine on the other side, is in English! I will just have to shelf it upside down and backwards.

My small Dreamcast collection

That's it for today, Thanks for Looking!

Japenese Macross Games

I have been a big Robotech fan since 1985. I watched the series all the way through numerous times, and still to this day, I enjoy them.

We never really got any Robotech games here, except for Battlecry and Invasion in the early 2000's. I have always been jealous of the Macross games that they got in Japan, and recently found out how easy it was to play them on some of my U.S. consoles.

So, over the last few weeks, I had some imported over.

All you need to play import games on a Sega Saturn, is the Action Replay Cartridge, plug in into the cartridge slot in the back of the Saturn, and put in any import game disc and play!

The Super Dimension Fortress Macross for the Sega Saturn.

I recently read that the Sony PSP was Region Free, so had to find out for myself. So I ordered a Macross PSP game from Japan.

Macross Ace Frontier

I loaded it up in the PSP to test it out, and ended up playing for 45 minutes. The only thing I had to get used to was the O button being confirm, and the X button being Cancel. So, since that game worked so well, had to get the rest for the PSP, Right?

 Macross Triangle Frontier

Macross Ultimate Frontier

And, I also got this, which I will be using for a project soon

Macross for the Nintendo Famicom

PS2 & Xbox Pickups

Just a couple quick pickups to share today, haven't been doing much, except playing lots of Forza Motorsport (3 & 4) & Horizon (all 3). Chasing Achievements and Forza Rewards Points.

Anyway, I was going through my Playstation 2 Star Wars games and realized I did not have the exclusive Star Wars Racer Revenge, so off to eBay I went.

 $8.00 Shipped
 Complete and in Great Shape

A couple of years ago (February 2014?) I was at a used media store and picked up the True Crime New York City Collectors Edition, Which came with a Steelbook case (I love my steelbooks) and as I have mentioned here before, I prefer to get a regular standard case to keep the game in to play.

When we moved from the 3br apt to the 2br apt, my wife and I were going through some misc totes storing stuff, and she came across the case with the Artwork and Manual for True Crime New York City without the game disc (reasons). She used to have the game and played it alot, and I said "Hey I need one of those for that game!" So I grabbed it and put the game in it, and stored my steelbook away safe.

That night she was telling me about the game, and how she used to play it back when, and it sounded like she really enjoyed it. So a few weeks ago we were bored with Call of Duty and looking for something to play so I grabbed True Crime NYC and told her to play it and I would watch. She played for almost 5 hours that day, and a few more the next.

Soooo, me being me and looking for any excuse to buy a new game, remembered that there was a LA True Crime game, again off to eBay I went. and I bought this for my wife for $4.00 Shipped.

Also complete and in Great Shape.

I surprised her with it the other day, and she was happy, and didn't know that it existed.
