Mayhem in 3D for Xbox 360

I procured another one of the games on my summer of Xbox 360 gaming list.

I found out about this game several months ago, when I saw a You Tuber pick it up for the PS3. Since Destruction Derby 1 & 2 on the Original Playstation are some of my absolute favorite games, I just had to get myself a copy of Mayhem in 3D for the Xbox 360.

So I started watching eBay auctions, checking Mercari and looking at local pawn shops.

Average eBay auction sales were about $18.00

I did see one at a pawn shop, it had a $14.99 price tag on it, and I didn't want to pay that much

So, I happened to be perusing Gamestop.com and I saw 1 store within 100 miles had one, for $4.99! Wait, what, $4.99 really?? So as soon as I got home form work my buddy and I shot over to the Gamestop and I picked it up, for $4.49. I used his Power Up Rewards. Oh and my 8 year old also got the exclusive Detective Pikachu Pokemon card that Gamestop was offering, so it was a win / win all around.

But.....

NO Artwork or Manual.......UGH!

Sidebar Rant: People, What the Hell are you doing with your cases and manuals, Seriously? UGH!

However, As I had been watching eBay I knew someone has been selling the artwork, manual AND 3-D glasses themselves that I never see included in the auctions, for $4.99 shipped. So as soon as we got home, I hopped online only to get to eBay and find out that the auction had ended.... DOH!

But wait, it had the see relisted item button, so I clicked the button and boom! There was the auction I had been looking for, relisted, AND with a discount, it was $4.44 shipped!

and

It arrived about 7 days later, and in Great Shape!
The 3-D glasses were still sealed together in plastic.

Got out and extra 360 case I had and got it all together
Nice

So, for about half what the item generally goes for,$9.00, I got a great complete copy!

I played the game for awhile, and I really like it. It is presented in a comic book style, with the only colors being Black & White with a Red sky, and the occasional Yellow lettering. I have bad eyes and thick glasses, so I am not going to be opening the 3-D glasses and trying them out.

I AM however going to be keeping an eye on Gamestop.com and if I see them near me for $4,99,
I will be buying and flipping them, especially if they are complete!

Thanks for Looking, more pickups soon!

More Pawn Shop and Thrift Store Game Pickups

We'll start with a couple older pickups I never got up onto the blog, the pics have been sitting on my camera's memory card. anyway on to the games!

First a couple Pawn America Pickups

Super Monaco GP II for the Sega Game Gear, .25 Cents!

Red Faction II for the PS2 for $3.00

I have had this game on the Original Xbox since the early/mid 2000's. The original Red Faction (Which I have had since then) was released on PS2, but not on the Xbox. Now I have both on PS2. This is one of the first games I remember having destructible environments. I remember going into an office type room with cubicles and pillars and being able to shoot everything up.

Speaking of Red Faction

Red Faction Armageddon for the Xbox 360

Unfortunately the newer Rad Faction games (Armageddon and Guerrilla) are no longer FPS games.
I picked this up in the lot I got the Bonus DVD Copy of Timeshift with

Next a few $2.00 Salvation Army Scores.

 X-Squad for the Playstation 2

Fur Fighters for the Playstation 2

 Dog's Life for Playstation 2

A great game, One of my older daughters had this game back in the early/mid 2000's and loved it. She must have played through the game 20-25 times. Looking forward to seeing how my youngest daughter likes it.

And I rarely buy Nintendo stuff, But I do occasionally, such as this

Super Luigi U for the Wii U

When my wife and I bought our Wii U (Blog Here), we wanted to buy the edition of Super Mario Bros. U that had Luigi U on the same disc, but they only had it without (Blog Here). Then I swear a week or two later, they had the version with both.... So anyway, I picked this up at Gamestop for $20.00.

Alright, now onto my pickups from this weekend (Saturday May 4th)

At Half Price Books

Wipout Pulse for the PSP for $2.00, No Manual though

Seek and Destroy for the Playstation 2 for $2.00

Robotech Battlecry on the Original Xbox for $5.00

I have had this great underrated game since it came out, but on the PS2. Since I prefer the Original Xbox, I have wanted to get this and Robotech Invasion for it.

Next from Savers

Lego Star Wars The Video Game
Complete and nice condition Nintendo Gamecube game for $3.00

And finally  from Pawn America

Wolfenstein The New Order for $5.00

I also picked up a bunch of DVD's, that's it for now, Thanks for looking!

More Xbox 360 Racing Game Pickups!

Working on my summer quest to get all the Xbox 360 racing games I am after.

First up
 Sega Rally Revo
Missing the manual though

Played a few hours so far, and it is a fun rally racing game.

Picked it up for $7.00 off the ol eBay, and it was listed as complete and in very good condition. However when I received it, It had a broken, cheap, generic, non original case, and was also missing the manual.
Not even the same shade of green

So, I filed a return item claim with eBay, and the seller Just refunded me and told me to keep it. Yeah that sounds good and all, but it bothers me not having a manual, But, hey, free I guess. I swapped it into one of my extra Xbox 360 cases I have a box full of,

 Grid Autosport
Complete and in great shape

Most copies of this I have seen sell for an average of around $15,00, which I didn't want to pay, but I just bided my time and waited and I was able to score this copy for $6.22 shipped. The item was listed as Grid in the title, not Grid Autosport. When I was searching eBay for this I always just put in Grid, just for an occasion such as this.

And finally

Race Pro an Xbox 360 Exclusive
Complete and in great shape

Another great score, on a gamble.

Another Xbox 360 racing game that generally sells for between $12-15.00 complete in good shape. I however only paid $6.00. How you ask? Well, this listed by a Japanese seller, as a Japanese game. But looking at the picture it looked like a U.S. NTSC copy to me. So I read the auction, which said the pictures of the item were pictures of the actual item I would receive and it was all in English and had NTSC markings. I checked other pictures of U.S. copies, and they matched. So I rolled the dice, and got the item for $6.00 shipped to me. And, when I received it, it was a U.S. copy. Awesome!

A little patience and a little gambling, and I was able to pick up these games on the cheap, just the way I like it!

Xbox 360 Racing Game Pickups + A Gamestop "Incident"

In my summertime quest to add to my Xbox 360 collection, I decided to abuse myself and head into a Gamestop to pickup some racing games they showed they had online. Gamestop were running one of their buy two get one free sales, so I figured why not pickup a couple games?

My daughter and I head over to the Gamestop, and I go look at the 360 games I was searching for.

Ridge Racer Unbounded

Plays alot like Burnout Revenge, which is a great game so is a good thing!

Need for Speed Shift

I had never played Shift before, and I am really enjoying it. Reminds me a lot of Forza Motorsport 2, with a little bit of Dirt thrown in (the sector races). And that is not a bad thing. Which makes me excited to get to the last game I bought:

Need for Speed Shift 2

It is missing the manual though......

But, Shift was 9.99, Shift 2 4.99 and Unbounded was 4.99. So, with the buy two get one free, they came out to $5.00 each. Definitely not a bad deal.

All right, and now to the patented Gamestop shitty customer service experience. So, I get up to the counter, give the clerk the cases and he goes to the drawers and gets the discs, except for Shift. Shift he grabs a broken black case with printed non orginal artwork and no manual, even though the case I brought up had the original art and manual in a good unbroken green xbox case.

So I say "excuse me, can i get the other case for this game?" The clerk makes a disgusted face, and grunt and then frisbees the original case I brought up at me at the counter? WTF?!?! Seriously?

I should have just took both cases and left, but no, I took the disc out of the broken fake case, and swapped it into the good case I had originally brought up and just left.

But my fault, what did I expect, I went into Gamestop willingly knowing they seem to pride themselves on shitty customer service, it was my own fault.

But hey, I got my games, and I am enjoying them
