Xbox 360 HD DVD Player

For some reason, I have wanted to add one of these to my collection since I found out about them. just cause. Then a couple weeks ago I walked into my favorite Salvation Army and found a few (8) HD DVD's so figured it was about time to get a hold of one.

The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player is an accessory for the Xbox 360 console.
Microsoft offered the drive for sale between November 2006 and February 2008

So I came across an HD DVD player in the box, and it came with a few HD DVD's as well.

Arrived in box in nice shape
And when I flipped it to the side to open it
It was still factory sealed!

The ad had stated never played, but you know I thought yeah sure, I was wrong.

Everything looks new

The pack in, in my opinion a great movie

Install Disc

The actual player

sealed accessories

The remote

Matched the design of the Xbox 360 model at the time
Even has a hole for a paperclip, just in case, like the original Xbox had.

It has the spot to clip the wireless adapter to and 2 USB slots (to make up for the player using one)

NOTE: Xbox 360's did not have wireless internet built into them until the "S" model revision

So now that we have had a good look at it, time to test it out.
And what better movie than one of my personal favorites and an american comedy classic!

Coming to America

The HD DVD Drive will work with any model Xbox 360, I am using it with my "E" Model

Works Great, and of course after I ordered the player, I had to buy a couple large lots of HD DVD's.

At the time of this blog I am still waiting for a lot of 19 with some great movies.

Then while doing a little research, I found:

Special black versions of the drive, along with black media remotes, were given to members of the Xbox 360 HD DVD development team. Unlike other black accessories which were created alongside the black Elite console, the black HD DVD drive was never made available to the general public

I WANT ONE!

But I can only imagine if I could actually find one, that it would be well out of my price range......
