Xbox One Accessories

I playing my new Xbox One last night, and decided I needed a few more accessories to go with it.

I opened up my Forza 6 controller, and found that it came with batteries. I was kind of disappointed that Microsoft did not include the Play N Charge kit with the Controllers, There is one thing Playstation does right, Anyway....

THE best accessory you can buy for your Xbox, is a Play N Charge Kit. I remember when I first got my 360, before I was aware of the Play N Charge Kit, I used to keep a 20 pack of AA batteries next to the TV, LoL. With the Play N Charge Kit, if you are in the middle of a game, you can plug in the charging cord (Keep it close) and keep playing.

I also decided to get a 2nd Controller, for my GF or a 2nd person to use, as I am hording the Forza 6 Controller all to myself! I picked this one.

And, I got a "mini" Controller for my 4 yr old daughter, so she could play Minecraft and Rare Reply. They had Black, Blue and Red, She choose Red.

And here it is with a Full Size Xbox One controller

That's it for today, Back to playing Forza!

Xbox One Forza Motorsport 6 Edition

I wasn't in a hurry to get an Xbox One when they first came out, as I unfortunately don't have as much time as I used to to play games. But, Once I found out that Star Wars Battlefront was only on the new consoles (Xbox One and PS4) and would not be released on the 360, I knew I would have to get one before Nov 2015.

Then I found out that Microsoft was releasing a Forza Motorsport 6 Edition of the console on September15th 2015, and I knew that I had to have it. I am a huge Forza fan, having played all of them (except 5, it's on my list) since the first one on the Original Xbox. And Here it is:

I finally ponied up the cash, and picked up the console and few games. Rare Replay (30 incredible classic games for 30 bux, how can you go wrong?), Minecraft (of course!), Destiny the Taken King (Legendary Edition) and One of the titles I had been looking forward to playing on the Xbox One, Wolfenstein the Old Blood.

Let's open it up, and take a look inside!

Looks like the box with the Power Supply, HDMI Cable, Headset and Controller.

Nice Looking Controller!

And here it is with the console

And a better look at the games, Unfortunately, Forza 6 is a Digital Download, and I prefer Physical copies of my games, but I will get one in the future, for now I will deal with the Digital Download, since it did come with the console and all.

There were also some cool Forza Motorsport and Xbox One Stickers

I am not leaving the house this weekend, going to spend some "Quality Time" with my new friend.

Twisted Metal Head-On Sony PSP

I had a $5.00 Target Gift Card I had won in a Trivia contest at work. I never really go to Target, as my GF works at Walmart, so we get her 10% discount, and Walmarts prices are just better.

Anyway, I was over by a Target, so I decided to swing in and check out their clearence games, and see if I could put my gift card to use, and I did.

Got Twisted Metal Head-On for the Sony PSP, $4.98. I ended up paying .30 out of pocket after tax.

Then, after I was home for awhile, I remembered, I have the port of the same game for the Playstation 2, still Factory Sealed as well.

I, Strahd

I, Strahd The Memoirs of a Vampire

I, Strahd by P.N. Elrod is an amazing book, Another one of my absolute favorite books. It introduced me to the Ravenloft Series of books, of which I have all of them.

I remember buying this hardcover copy brand new at B.Dalton Booksellers at Brookdale mall back when I was 14 or 15, so 25 years ago, wow i'm getting old...... Anyway, I found this on their clearance table for $3.95. I generally prefer paperback books, they fit in my back pocket, map pocket in the car, glove box, etc.. However for $4.00 I picked this bad boy up, and am glad I did.

I also picked up a paperback copy as well, all my Ravenloft books, are paperback.

I, Strahd is an amazing story. It begins when Strahd Van Zarovich is still just a Human Being, Fighting a war. It follows his life as he becomes a vampire, falls in love and loses his love, then him spending the rest of his days a tortured soul. He also appears as a main charachter in other Ravenloft books such as Vampire of the Mists, which is the first book in the Ravenloft series, and another Great read, as well as I,Strahd the War with Azalin, and Spectre of the Rose which is the final book in the Ravenloft series. He also has small bit parts, or is mentioned in most of the other books in the series as well.

I, Strahd is an amazing read, and I absolutely, Highly recommend this to anyone interested in Fantasy or Vampires, it will not disappoint!

I have read through this book several times, and so has my daughter. We both look forward to enjoying this incredible story again!

Flipped a Playstaion 2 Game Online in less than a Day

My GF had finished the book she was reading, and were on our way to Half Price Books to see if we could pickup the next one for her. We had bought #1-5 and #7 last year sometime at Savers, but were missing #6 in the series. On the way we would pass a Savers, so I asked her if we should pop in there and see if we could find it there first, as it would be 1/2 or less the price of what Half Price books would charge.

We swung into Savers, but did not see it. We did get 4 Pokemon books for our 4 yr old though. I, of course had to look at the games, I mean we were there right? I saw, for $2.99, Test Drive Eve of Destruction for the Playstation 2.

I was excited at first, as I know it is a $40.00+ game in good complete condition. Well, it turned out that it was a former Hollywood Video Rental Copy, missing the instructions. So, Reluctantly I left it behind. I am on a buying hiatus anyway, until I get the Forza Motorsport 6 Edition Xbox One in 3 weeks.

As happens to me a lot, when I leave things behind, it started nagging at me a few hours later. So I checked eBay COMPLETED Auctions......

Slight Rant: When most people try and quote "it sells for such and such on eBay" They only look at the current Buy it Now auctions, Not the Completed auctions. Anyone can put up an auction for an absurd, never gonna sell for price. The Completed Auctions, in my opinion, give a more fair representation of what things are actually selling  for.

Anyway, recent loose disc copies sold for $20-25.00, while the complete copies sold for $40-45.00.

The next day at work, it was nagging at me and nagging at me, so I had to swing by Savers on my way home to see if it was still there. Luckily, it was! So I bought it and headed home.

Here is how you can tell it was a Rental copy, Not the complete original artwork.

I already have this game, I had bought it new for the original Xbox back in the early 2000's when it came out, and also had bought my brother a copy for his Playstation 2, as I knew he would like it. Anyway, the point being I didn't Need it, But wouldn't of minded adding it to my PS2 collection. I have a place online I order from several times a year I probably could get a manual and artwork from.

So, I got it all cleaned up, play tested it on my PS2 for awhile (it is still a fun game), to make sure it boots and plays fine, and took pictures so I could list it online on eBay and Craigslist. I was gonna list it for $20.00 for a quick flip, to add money to my Xbox One fund, but I got greedy and listed it for $30.00, as I figured if it didn't sell, oh well, and I would just put it into my collection.

However, I listed it at 8:00pm on Monday night, and when I got home from work today, Tuesday, @5:30pm I checked my email like I always do, it had sold, in less than 24 hours, for $30.00, Damn!

Oh, and we did find the book for my GF Sunday at Half Price books. Happy Family all around.

My Sega Game Gear Collection

I was sitting on the couch, playing some Road Rash on my Sega Game Gear, and I realized.......

As of 6 weeks ago, I did not have, nor had I ever had, a Sega Game Gear handheld. And now, as of this last weekend, I have a Game Gear and 15 Games. Having spent less than $15.00 on all of it, Nice.

My Sega Game Gear

My 15 Game Gear Games

While going through the cases, of which I only have 8, I would like to get as many as I can to house all the games I have/want, I noticed there are 2 different style fonts, cool.

I pretty much am really only looking to get Shining Force The Sword of Hajya and the rest of the Sonic games I don't have, Unless of course I come across a good deal on other misc games.

Another Sega Game Lot

I was contacted by a user on Segaage.com, I have a Wanted ad up on the site for some things, Anyway he contacted me advising he saw I was in MN too and that he lived 10 minutes away, cool. He sent me some pictures of what the had, we agreed on a price, and made a time to meet.

Here's what I picked up:

First thing was the Artwork for Road Rash 3 (One of my top 6 games for the Genesis). Generally Loose Cartridges are easier to come across, and I figured with this at least if I came across a loose cart, I would already have the art.

Next a couple loose Cartridges, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and Boogerman for the Genesis, as well as Super Columns for the Game Gear. They are in Great Shape.

Sega Club Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio. I already had this one loose cart, but wanted the box and manual for the collection. According to the box, this also came with a Sega branded Mouse. That would definitely make this game easier to play, and I will be keeping an eye out for that, but my 4 Year old still plays this for hours with a standard controller.

4 Genesis games, PGA Tour Golf, Arnold Palmer's Tournament Golf, After Burner II and Shove it! The Warehouse Game. All are complete and in great shape, except After Burner II, which is just missing the manual.

This is going to be it for Game Pickups for a month and a half or so, as I am saving up to finally get myself an Xbox One. There is a 1TB Forza Motorsport 6 Edition Console coming out September 15th, And one will be mine!

My blog will still have content, I know most of my posts are about Video Games, But I have plenty of Music and Book recommendations I want to share.

Thanks for Reading!
