Original Playstation Game Pickups

I am mainly an Xbox/Xbox 360 Collector. But, I do pickup most of the Disc based game systems games. The original Playstation is one that I will always have an special affinity for, as it was my first "Big Boy" console that I had  bought myself after moving out of my parents house.

First up a couple recouper games I already had

Tetris
Sells for $12-15.00

Found this one mixed in with the Music CD's, I have had it since it was new.

Descent Maximum
Sells for $18-20.00

This one is a game I had never heard of, of course with it being a sports game why would I have. But it was half off day at the thrift store I was at, so it only cost me .50 Cents!

Alexi Lalas International Soccer

At the time I bought it (and still currently as of today 6/6/2021) There are none in the sold listings on eBay, and only a couple listed for sale. Which seems odd to me as sports games generally are not that sought after, and tend to clog the listings. And only a few listed anywhere from $5-20.00. Mine is in nice shape, so I have it listed for $12.49 w/free shipping

Onto the ones I am keeping for the collection

Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
No Manual, but was also .50 at the same thrift store as the soccer game.

Quick memory Share: I split from my first wife in early 1999, I ended up moving into an apartment with a roommate, who was also a Playstation fan. I remember we spent one whole weekend shortly after I moved in playing through this game.

Reel Fishing
Torn Manual - sure I could find a replacement manual or game eventually

Nascar 98

Nascar 2001

IHRA Drag Racing

Pipe Dreams 3D

Skydiving Extreme

Sports Superbike 2

Caesers Palace

Vigilante 8

Porsche Challenge
Love Porsche's and Racing games = Perfect!

I have had a loose manual for this game for several years.

Someone donated their Cool Boarders Collection

Cool Boarders 3

Cool Boarders 4

Next up, since I was on a Playstation kick, I picked up a couple Rally games from eBay

Need for Speed V-Rally 2

Another Xbox 360 Console, Somebody Stop Me!

Today I had a Dr. Appt. and I decided that on my way home, since I was going to go right past a Salvation Army, I might as well stop in. Picked up some great Sealed Movies, a PS2 IHRA Drag Racing game and Another Xbox 360 E Console with a Kinect.

Xbox 360 E w/Kinect
For $25.00

As I have mentioned before, the "E" Model of the Xbox 360 was the 3rd iteration of the console, and in my personal opinion, the best iteration.

Console and Kinect both power on

No Bonus game this time.

If you look down in the Right Corner, you can see the Kinect works fine as well.

I know have 9 Xbox 360 Consoles.........

Fun with Controllers

Here are a few controllers that have been added to my collection (Semi) recently

I have been playing alot of arcade puzzle games such as Bejeweled, Bejeweled 2, Boggle and one of my favorite puzzle game series of all time, Tetris Effect on Game Pass. So I decided to get a dedicated controller for those type of games. The standard Xbox One controller works, but this new one works and feels so much better when playing these kinds of games.

Another Power A Controller
Their "Fusion Fight Pad"

It was on Sale for $29.99 on Amazon

It is wired, the wire is 10 feet long, If I was any further away from the TV I wouldn't see it clear anyway, Old Man Club! I have it plugged into one of the USB ports on the back of my Original Xbox One, and it does not effect when I am using one of my wireless controllers as a main one.

But once I pulled out the controller, I saw this?

And Underneath
a Second white controller cover?

I did not know it came with this. It just uses the magnets on the back to switch covers

Cool Bonus, I prefer the Black one of course.

Just pull up here with a fingernail to change.

In the above picture you can also see the switch to set which input you want the D-Pad to be

So as I was playing with some controllers, I realized I only have One PS4 controller. And as I was out I had been noticing that the stores seemed to have less and less,  Then I saw this one online, I Want One!

A Walmart exclusive transparent blue PS4 controller

It was available online and in store, so I figured I would just wait till I went to Walmart again.

Big Mistake.........

I Did not see one at my local Walmart on my next visit, nor the other Walmart  that is semi near me, and when I went online to order one, Sold Out....... Ugh......

I did not care much for the colors that were available, then I found this for $75 at Walmart

A Fifa Controller Bundle

I sold the DLC Codes for the game and extra gold bonus things for $25.00

So I got a brand new PS4 controller as a back up, for $50.00, less than buying a new one separately

Then as my luck goes two weeks later I was at Savers, and they had this

A used, but in box PS4 controller.

I took it out of the box and looked it over, pressed the buttons and decided to roll the dice. And as a bonus when I got up to the register, I gave them my phone number to access my Savers Club and turned out I had a 20% off coupon, Nice! So it turned out to be $24.99.

Synched it to my PS4 console and it works just fine.

Hey, now I have 2 backup controllers

And I have to end on this one, because the Xbox 360 is my main focus, for $2.99

A White Wired Xbox 360 Controller

Needs new sticks, but of course I have extras. I also have a Black wired controller I bought years ago as a backup, but for $2.99 it is nice to add a white one to the collection as well.

It's Raining Xbox 360 S Consoles

It was quite the week for Xbox 360 Console pickups

Lat Friday I was perusing the internet and I found a listing on Mercari for an Xbox 360 S Console. It was the Special Edition White Xbox 360 S, And I figured since I did not yet have an S Model 360 in my collection, I have 3 of the original Fat Models and 2 E Models so why not?  $120.00 and it included the box and everything, plus 5 games. It came via UPS yesterday, Wednesday.

Believe it or not, this is my first Kinect unit.

5 Games and all the inserts, Smilie face is the Kinect set up card

Exclusive to this Edition White controller with Light Gray Thumbsticks and D-Pad

The Unit and Kinect

This thing is in immaculate condition. I would say hardly used.

But as my luck would have it, the day before this arrived, I was out Thrifting at my favorite Salvation Army, and they happened to have 2 of the S model 360's in Black.

They were marked at $24.99 Each

And they both were in great shape.

One only had a Power supply taped to it, the other had the Power Supply, A/V Cords and a controller in a separate bag. Since they were in the glass case in the electronics section, they took them up and kept them behind the registers until I came to check out. And after that I found several original Xbox games Halo, Halo 2 and a Halo 2 Collectors Edition as well as a nice PS3 copy of The Last of Us, all for me to resell since I already had them.

When I went to check out, they were stacked on top of each other, with the bag for the one on top. The bag was unmarked and she asked if it went with it, I said "Yes it goes with one of them" My exact words. However, she rang it all up (BOTH Xbox's and the Bag of Accessories) for just $24.99! I figured you know what, it isn't my job to police the employees and smiled all the way out to the car knowing that I had just paid $12.50 each for 2 Xbox's.

Took them home, hooked them up and both work great, and are very very clean consoles.

I had picked up an A/V cable for a Xbox 360 S for a couple bucks at Savers last summer some time, so I just need to pair one of the extra controllers I have in storage to have two complete working Consoles. I am going to Resell one of them with a couple common games for $100.00.

I think I will keep the other, I mean why not have both a Black and a White Xbox 360 S?

Update: Sold one of them with 3 common games for, $120.00 Cssh!

FOUND: 4-Disc Case for Xbox 360 Games!

Back in May of 2020, I picked up the Complete Edition of L.A. Noire for the Xbox 360. (HERE) The only problem I had was that it was not in a "regular" Case to put on the shelf with my other Xbox 360 Games. I ended up using the Wolfenstein The New Order case, as it was for 4 discs, but I did not care for the way the discs just stack on top of each other.

But, just last week I finally saw a case I had not known about before. I was perusing eBay, no surprise there 😏 and saw the case for the Halo 3 ODST & Forza Motorsport 3 Games that came packed in with some consoles, which I have seen before but never really gave too much thought to. Then it clicked in my head that both of those games were 2 disc games. How did they get them all in 1 case? I thought maybe they just used a 3 disc case and that the Multiplayer disc for ODST was removed and there would just be an update to download with those files.

Anyway, I saw on eBay from a good seller who takes thorough pictures (like me) and was surprised to see that they got all 4 discs into a single case without having them stacked like the Wolfenstein case.

And with the L.A. Noire discs in their new home

Looks pretty cool. Now that I know this exists, I am going to get a few more, Just in case.

End of Blog?

As some of my regular readers may notice, I have been quite quiet on this blog recently. I honestly have lost the passion, I used to look forward to bringing home new (to me) Video game hauls, fixes, flips etc... But I have only made 2-3 posts since 2021 began.

It is not just the blog itself, but life in general. In 2005 I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety and I have been on and off medications over the last 15 years. The last couple years my Dr. has upgraded this to Severe Recurring Depression and Severe Anxiety. My social anxiety is so bad I have to go grocery shopping at 7:00am and use the self checkouts just to deal with the least amount of people as possible.

I also have Developed severe Telephobia: Telephone phobia (telephonophobiatelephobiaphone phobia) is reluctance or fear of making or taking phone calls, literally, "fear of telephones".[1] It is considered to be a type of social phobia or social anxiety.

Then there is the state of society in 2021. Everyone is so easily offended and worried about being "PC", no one seems to be responsible or held properly responsible for their actions to the determent of society in my personal opinion.

I know I am getting old, and if I had my own lawn I would be the guy outside shaking my fist and screaming "Stay Off My Lawn!" I am trying to distance myself as far from modern society as I am able. I also am going to be reigning in my internet presence as well. Anyone know how to see what/where online I have been, have accounts (message boards, etc..) so I can delete them? I remember reading an article years back ab9out this very thing, but can't seem to find it now. Of course I will stay on eBay, I make a lot of $$ on there selling stuff and spend a lot buying stuff.

I just want to buy a piece of land in the middle of no where, build a nice small house and Pole Barn/Shop for my Firebirds and other car work and make my living from home, with as little human interaction as possible.

In closing, I may or may not delete this blog. I will leave it up for a little while, so people can save  whatever info or what not they would like. I may also make One or Two more posts, as I do have pictures taken of a bunch of Xbox 360 stuff I have procured recently. I don't know, we will see where I land on this blog, thank you all for your years of reading, comments and emails. I may or may not be back.

I Finally Bought myself a Japenese Playstation 2 Console

I am a HUUUGE Robotech Nerd, I mean Fan, have been since 1985. I remember I lived in California at the time and I would come home from school everyday to watch it on TV. I also remember that every week I would also go to the local Comic Shop and pickup the Comic Book Adaptations of the episodes as well. I even remember going to a Robotech Convention at the Anaheim Convention Center as well. Robotech was adapted from three separate Japanese anime cartoons, brought over and redubbed into English, and told as 3 generations of earth soldiers defending against alien invasion. There is a long and storied history there that can be found online, so I won't get into it here.

Everything in one awesome package

The first 36 episodes were called The Macross Saga, adapted from the Japanese Anime  Super Dimension Fortress Macross. We did not get a lot of Robotech games here in the US, Just Battlecry and Invasion during the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era. In Japan there were numerous Macross games. I do have one for the Sega Dreamcast, one for the Sega Saturn and three on the Sony PSP that I can play since the PSP is region free, there is also one for the Super Nintendo I intend on getting, but there were four on the Playstation and one on the Playstation 2.

Since I am not familiar with modding a console to bypass the region locking on games, I would love for someday to just be able to put any game from any region in a single Playstation 2 and just play them. But at this time the easiest thing for me is just to buy a Japanese console. Since the Playstation 2 plays both original Playstation and Playstation 2 games, I decided to finally get one. Japan also got several different exclusive colors and editions of the console so I decided that if I was going to get one, I might as well get something different than just the plain old black version.

So I got the Ocean Blue version
Which is a Cool Transparent Blue

NTSC-J is the Video Gaming Region Code for Japan, South East Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau & and the Philippines.

I am going to use the Transparent Island Blue Memory Card I already had

So much cooler looking than the standard PS2

Of course the biggest hurdle to using this system would be the Japanese language. But I found this website (HERE) that shows how to switch a Japanese Playstation 2 into the English Language. Then the only other thing you need to get used to, like I had to do when playing the Japanese Macross PSP Games, is to remember that the O button is confirm and the X button is go back, or cancel which is the opposite of their functions on the standard U.S. Consoles.

I finally get to play my Japanese Robotech, er, um I mean Macross Games!
