Backwards Compatible PS3 for $15.00!

 I was out at one of the Salvation Army thrift stores I frequent the other day, and I saw this sitting on the shelf behind the counter with the glass cases. I of course could not see the price, which meant I had to try and interact with someone just to see if I was even interested. This particular location has been severely understaffed my last couple of visits, and can be a wait if you want to see something not out.

But since I could see that it had 4 USB ports, I figured it was worth looking at

and I am glad I did

It came with a wired Gamestop controller and Power Cord as well

Now to my understanding, if an original "Fat" PS3 has the 4 USB ports and this flap for other memory options, it is a pretty safe bet that it is a PS2 Backwards compatible model.

Update, I ended up selling the Game and Gamestop Controller seperately for $18.00 or so after fees and shipping. So I got a Working Backwards Compatable PS3 and made $3.00

Last of my Original Playstation Pickups 5 of 5

 A couple of weeks ago (ok 5-6) I was out of town in Superior Wisconsin, Was really up there to raid the thrift stores in Duluth, MN, but Superior is right across the bridge and had a better Hotel booking. Anyway..... A couple blocks from the Hotel was a Game Store called Games Then and Now, so of course I had to swing in and see what they had.

The clear case parts were destroyed, but the next time I swung into Goodwill I bought a double disc CD for .99 Cents to swap it over for the game.

Then at a Savers in Duluth I found

The funny thing was that they had a sign that said all discs are at the front counter, But when I brought this up to the counter and they brought out their game binder, with game discs in it, but of course NOT for this one. The lady went to toss the case and I said, I would be interested in the case if you are just going to throw it away, she handed it to me, apologized for not having the disc and said I could just have it.

Then I went on a Grand Theft Auto buying binge

I have had the original top down Grand Theft Auto games for my Playstation since they were new back in the mid to late 90's. I can remember playing them in my game room at the house I shared with my first wife while listening to Overkill. But not these versions. I am pretty sure I have the greatest hits releases as well, but won't know for sure until I am able to unpack my Playstation collection after I move.

And I bought this off Mercari, and when I bought it I got a message from the seller that he was out of town on vacation with his family. I replied that I was in no hurry and to enjoy his vacation. When I got the package, he had thrown in 2 other games (I already Had)  that were also in Great Condition.

More Playstation Games for the Collection - 4 of ?

 Next set of pickups, along with a little story of a crappy buyer.......

I Picked up a lot of 10 Playstation games off Mercari for $18.00 + $4.99 Shipping, Which makes them $2.30 Each. However the day they were supposed to have arrived, I got a notice in my mailbox from the Post Office stating that there was $4.79 Postage Due on the package? What? That is not what the seller and I agreed to?

So I messaged the Seller through Mercari and I was actually very personable, I must have grown over the last couple of years or something, asking if he would refund me the $4.79 so I could go pay for the package at the Post Office. He got back to me a few hours later and told me "Tough, Not My Problem"

W T F? Really? I filed a claim through Mercari's app, they actually have a button for if a buyer receives a package with Postage Due. Wow must be enough of a problem that they had to make a dedicated claim button. Anyway, I scanned a picture of the notice from the post office, and I got an email back within an hour stating that all I had to do was scan and upload a picture of the receipt once I paid for the Postage at the Post Office and they would refund me the $4.79. Mercari's Customer Service is Top Notch!
