My Wonderful Wife got me the 2016 Doom Collectors Edition for the Xbox One for my Birthday!

I figured I would take a bunch of pictures of my unboxing, and share them here.

Steelbook!

Steelbook Contents

Not much of one, but at least it HAS a Manual

Logo in the Styrofoam, wasn't expecting that, Neat Touch!

First Glimpse of the Statue, Very Nicely Detailed.

The fan in the base turns, and the red L.E.D.'s Light up, very coool

And, as I have mentioned before, I love collecting Steelbooks, but I prefer to have a regular case to keep the game on the game shelf with. As I also mentioned, Gamestop was giving away free Doom Collector Cards in the 4 months (1 per month) leading up to the release of Doom.

Gamestop also decided to give out free Doom artwork after the release as well
my daughter snagged one for me.

3 TB Upgrade for my Xbox One

The time came, I had filled up my 1 TB HD that came in my Forza Motorsport 6 Edition Xbox One.

I remember I never had a problem with the HD in my original Xbox, which I still use to play Xbox Original games today.

It took 3 years to fill the 20 GB HD in my first Xbox 360 (really my second, my first was returned to Best Buy right outta the box as it had the E74 error) , which I bought in February 2007.

I then purchased a 120 GB Xbox 360 Elite to replace the 20 GB Pro model that was having overheating issues in March 2010 (after having the RROD "fixed" in June of 2009).

I then found myself deleting things off the 120 GB HD, to make space. So that was later replaced in December of 2014 with a 500 GB Xbox 360 E (after the disc tray stopped working on the Elite), which is only half full as of now, even with downloading the free games with gold.

The 1 TB HD in my Xbox One, filled up in 9 months. Only 9 months to fill up a 1TB HD? Wow. I had 99.9% full when I had to download a Halo 5 Update, I ended up having to Delete some free Games with Gold game I hadn't played, just to get an Update?

So as it turns out, the next weekend, my wonderful Daughter and her Boyfriend, had gotten my wife and I a 3 TB WD My Book for the Xbox One as our wedding gift.

It was a straight Plug and Play deal, it only took 2 minutes to format, and was ready to go.
I decided to decorate it with a sticker from my Forza 5 Collectors Edition.

I also recently found myself really wanting to play Skyrim and Bioshock 2, which were on the 360. I had moved the 360 into the other room, and hooked it to the 27" flat screen in there, when we got the Wii U. We only have 2 HDMI inputs on the 55" flatscreen in the living room, and since I was playing my Xbox One most of the time, I just decided to move the 360.

Well who the hell wants to play on a 27" TV when they can play on a 55" TV? Not I!

After doing a little research, and not wanting to spend a ton of money on a HDMI adapter/splitter thingie and more cables, I found that I am able to hook the 360 TO the One, and play the 360 through the One. There is a HDMI input on the Xbox One, which was meant for a TV signal but the 360 signal works the same anyhow, just use the One Guide app on the Xbox One, and boom, Playing my 360 on/through the Xbox One.

And I keep the External HD stored right close to the systems

So, I loaded up some Bioshock 2, played for a while. When I went to save, I saw my last game save was from Oct 2010. Wow almost 6 years later to get back to a great game. I really need to finish it up.

The real kicker is, which I found out after all this, is that both Skyrim and the Bioshock games are getting HD remakes and are releasing this fall for the Xbox One (and PS4, but who gives a shit), I will be repurchasing these. Kind of Ironic, I wanted to play these, went through all that rearranging and what not, and now they are getting redone for the One, wow.
