He had called in claiming to be sick, but on payday his wife came in to get his paycheck and when the manager asked how he was doing she said he wasn't sick, just constantly playing  Everquest. Whoops, guess he did not coach his wife before sending her for his check........

I saw this complete with the bonus disc on the shelf, and even though I already had it, bought it.
Couldn't help myself.......

Ready Player One - My Movie Review

I will admit, when I first saw the previews for this movie, I was not interested at all. A big reason for this was because of the Delorean. If you have been following this blog for several years now, you might remember my post (Here) about Back to the Future in 2015. Where I am not thrilled with all the people who see a Delorean and start quoting the movie. Yes they were good movies, but not one time in person or on television has a person NOT brought it up.

The DeLorean is such a beautiful car.

Even today roughly 40 years after it was first thought of even if it was way underpowered with the Peugeot 6 Cylinder engine. I seriously think they look tacky with all the time machine crap loaded on top of them. Anyway enough about that same old rant. I will admit it was a stupid reason to judge a whole movie, but the DeLorean Time Machine in the movie.........

..... and has  a Knight Rider K.I.T.T. Scanner

Yep I narrow mindedly judged NOT wanting to see a movie full of 1980's (The best decade) nostalgia because of this one little detail. I grew up in the 80's. the best cars, the best music that I still enjoy today.

So while I was out thrifting the other day what should I happen to find on the shelf while sifting through the .99 Cent movies at my local Salvation Army?

I figured for a dollar, why not?

Even has a bonus disc 😉

So I decided to throw it in the Xbox 360 (my default DVD player) and give it a play while I was doing some other things around the living room, and eventually I completely stopped doing those things and sat engrossed in the movie. Yep I actually really, really enjoyed it, all of it.

I can admit that I was close minded and that I should have waited to judge the movie until I actually saw it, I am planning to watch it again soon. It always takes two to three viewings of a movie to catch everything going on, especially all the "Easter Eggs" in this movie.

I will whole heartedly recommend this movie for anyone interested in virtual reality, video games and 1980's nostalgia.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

When Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order was first announced, I really did not have that much interest. After what EA did with and handled their two previous Battlefront games was extremely disappointing. This was supposed to be a single player campaign, great but I never finished the campaign in Battlefront II because it was so fucking booooring.

Then after seeing a few trailers, and seeing pictures online the more skeptical I became. A single unknown Jedi, travelling to different worlds. Sounded just like The Force Unleashed to me (which were fun games) so not much for an original story, much like the Disney Star Wars movies, but THAT is a rant for another day. Then I see photos and gameplay of the main character having a small little droid, that folds up and attaches to his back, another rip off from a much crappier game, Battlefront II's campaign. So I figured I might pick it up eventually when it gets cheaper, I still consider myself a Star Wars Fan, even though I am only hanging on by a thread these days.

I ended up ordering this game off Amazon the last week of December 2019, since it was on sale for $24.99 at the time. I initially played this game shortly after I bought it,  While I was playing through that whole first section I was totally telling myself that this was just Tomb Raider with a Star Wars Skin, and after playing through to the train car, was not very impressed. So I shelved it and filed it away in my mind to try it again at a later date. Maybe it gets better?

After a Nine Months, I figured it was about time to give it another shot. So I erased my game data and started fresh, and as before, while I was playing through that whole first and second sections I was again not very impressed and totally telling myself that this was just Tomb Raider with a Star Wars Skin, except without showing what buttons I needed to use.........Maybe they figured people would remember from Tomb Raider,

Then I get to the part where the Inquisitors are questioning the group, looking for a Jedi (Spoiler, your character) and on a good note, I liked the main Inquisitor The Second Sister, she had a pretty cool character design and I have always liked blacked out Stormtroopers.

Then after that interaction your character suddenly has his lightsaber and you have to fight your way down a moving train, Uncharted anyone? But, I will admit it was fun slashing Stormtroopers and Biker Scouts with a lightsaber again. I get to the next planet, where I get my little buddy bot on my back, and can change the color of my lightsaber ( just like Force Unleashed) I just stopped playing. I was that bored, again

So it's back to the shelf for Jedi Fallen Order, as I have plenty of Rally games I need and WANT to play. Maybe I will try to play it again in the future, but I really would not count on it.

Time to share my recent new pickups for the Xbox One library

First up, another WalMart Clearance score

Devil May Cry 5 - $5.00

Then, while we on the subject of $5.00 Games, a $5.00 deal from New Egg

Dirt Rally 2.0

I have been playing this almost everyday, on Xbox Game Pass for the last year or so.
It was removed from Game Pass as of October first, so was great timing for a great deal!

And for $10.00

Dishonored - Definitive Edition

Next up a $12.00 deal from Target

F1 2016

The F1 games are fun, but extremely more difficult and take more overall management of your race team, car setup and the actual racing. It is similar to a simulation game.

For $20.00

WRC 8

And what is better than one WRC game? Why two WRC Games of course!

This just came out last month, and was $50.00

WRC 9

And a weird thing I noticed on WRC 9's Spine

Only has Xbox printed on it, not Xbox One?

I also had to pickup another new release from last month, for $40.00

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 Remastered

Just as fun as they always were!
